Day 39, Krems to Nickelsdorf

This is the third day that's kind of similar to the previous one. But that is mainly thanks to the Bike path, which turned to be the Eurovelo 6 after the renaming somewhere along the way. I have no idea where and it's importance can be ignored. Although I really like the idea of making cycle paths across the continent...in fact in every city, since it could solve lots of problems. In my

opinion. 

So the ride. It was quite long. Mainly flat, except after coming up from next to the Danube towards South-East and since no path was existed I stayed on the road. And for some reason most of the Hungarian cars almost hit me. I am not sure why. While the rest even slowed down, sometimes waiting for a clear pass, they stayed on the left side of the lane and with the same speed...passed me. Maybe additional lessons needed when in the driving school, where the "What to do when cyclist is on the road?" question is on the table. 

After fighting with the wind, mountains, even cold, rain etc. one element left out really...that had been the heat. And today was the day of the battle. Riding on the top of a dam with no shadow at all...even the water fountains disappeared suddenly after Vienna. Until the city there had been washrooms, water fountains, shadow etc...after none of the. Dehydration is guaranteed unless one is prepared. Even renewing my water almost every time when I could, it got so hot so quickly...but I arrived. Further then expected. I literally see the border, but I didn't want to cross it yet. In the cool morning with fresh brain. And thanks to the last couple of days pushed rides, I'll arrive tomorrow. Strange, having the last night (for now...) on the road. I am too tired to write something interesting, but I'll try to make it up tomorrow. And for the record: being tired can be a state. 

Stats:175km, Krems to Nickelsdorf 

A mai nap kivételessen nagyon hasonlított a tegnapihoz. A biciklis utat mondjuk elfelejtették rendbe tartani/normálisan kiépíteni Bécs utan, de nagyrészt azon mentem. Csak Nickelsdorf elött jöttem le róla úgy 35km-rel. Egyébként hasonló kerékpáros hálòzatra (értsd: amit hozzáértôk terveztek és építettek) sok helyen szükség lenne. Attól tartok holnap is közút lesz leginkább, ami azért zavaró, mert ma, amikor közútra tévedtem valamiért csak a magyar autósok (nem mind, csak a zöme) száguldoztak el mellettem káromkodásnyi helyet hagyva. Ezt a távolságot egyébként empirikus úton lehet meghatározni. Kicsit szubjektív...

Ezenkívül csak az egy harc várt (és még holnap mi lesz?) az anyatermészettel: a hôség elleni. Amikor árnyékban izzad az ember...és ráadásul már 100km-en túl van (addig még nem nyomasztó reggel), a folyamatosan újratöltött kulacs vize leves meleggé változik majdnem percek alatt (próbáltam szép kifejezést találni), a vizes kutak régen elfogytak, árnyék a töltés tetején végigfutó betonúton nincsen, akkor ez a harc is felkerül a többi mellé. Ugyanakkor személy szerint inkább ez mint bármely masik. A szél fizikailag tönkretesz, nem lehet egyenletessen haladni, változik az erôsség és az irány...az esô degradálja a kedvet, olyan szinten, hogy inkább a sátorban maradna az ember egész nap, a dombok meg mindig csak jönnek és jönnek (bár nekem ôk a kedvenceim, mert ott lehet látni akivel küzd az ember)...a Nap ellen sem lehet jgyan olyan sok mindent csinálni, de felkészülve annyira nem lassít le. Annyira.

Holnap reggel meg átlépem a határt. Végül mégis 40 nap lesz talán. Furcsa az utolsò úton lévô este. Már tervezek folytatást, de egyenlôre nem ilyen hosszút. Valami összegzést írok a következô napokban, illetve összeszedem a távolságokat és helyeket egy táblázatba. De elsô körben egy ismételten csak képzelt határ átlépés...
